Who we are

Patrick Lusch, owner of Mount Vernon Magic, has had an interest in magic since he was a child. He rekindled his interests during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been involved in vintage magic collecting as a hobby ever since.

A native of Detroit, MI, he has spent his career in the aviation world as an airline pilot and accident investigator. Magic is his escape from the daily grind. He enjoys buying, selling, and restoring vintage apparatus and learning about the great apparatus builders of the past. You can find his items for sale on the many Facebook magic buying and selling groups, and he is a regular attendee of the Magic Collector’s Corner Facebook live episodes.

Having also spent over 25 years in the jewelry business, earning an AJP certification from GIA, he has completed thousands of jewelry and watch appraisals and has a knack for researching and valuation.

He is the current editor and publisher of “Discoveries”, the magazine of the New England Magic Collector’s Association, and a member if IBM Ring 50 in Alexandria, VA.

Patrick’s current project involves writing a book entitled “Milson-Worth: The Ultimate Illustrated History”, one of the premier magic apparatus builders of the 1950’s-2000’s. This book will chronicle the life’s work of Lyn Johnson, proprietor of Milson-Worth and will be the largest and most complete compendium of his apparatus ever produced.

The art of a magician is to create wonder. If we live with a sense of wonder, our lives become filled with joy.
